This 2016 Helmsman Trawlers 38 Pilothouse has only 270 hours and appears as she did on the day she was delivered to its owners. There are no interior screw holes, tape residues, alterations, modifications, or anything else to prevent a new owner from personalizing this boat as if it were new. She is equipped with a complete SIMRAD nav electronics suite including HD radar, 16″ displays, structure scanning sonar and forward looking sonar too. She also has diesel-fired cabin heating, a bimini top, cockpit side entry doors, upgraded engine, and bow and stern thrusters. She is for sale because the owners have a new Helmsman Trawlers 43 on order.
Standard design features of the model include an amazingly spacious and inviting salon with a day head immediately accessible, separate master head and shower compartments, and an extended pilothouse that serves as a living and dining area in addition to its piloting function.
This is a very roomy and comfortable boat, frequently mistaken as being much larger than it is, yet fits in a 40 foot slip. Its 380 hp electronically-controlled Cummins QSB6.7 common-rail engine turns down nicely, and operates smoothly and quietly. She performs frugally at 7 or 8 knots, and has additional power when needed.
A new Helmsman Trawlers 38 would require six months or more to build — this late model example is available now, appears in excellent condition and is offered at a lower price.
