What originally motivated you to buy this boat?

We knew the reputation of Cold Water Boats for constructing high performing, quality vessels and were contemplating purchasing a brand new boat from them. However, we ended up buying this 2008 model after learning that there was a two-year waiting period for a new build – we didn’t want to wait that long to have our dream boat! And we were not disappointed with our decision. The previous owner had made excellent outfitting and equipment choices that ensured comfort, safety and ease of operation. So much so that he was able to author two books aboard her while circumnavigating Vancouver Island! We felt confident that the boat could meet our own needs, while also allowing us to avoid a long wait for a new build, with significant cost savings.

What did you most enjoy during your ownership of the boat?

We really appreciated the remarkable comfort and flexibility the pilothouse layout affords. We did everything from day trips to Gig Harbor to cruising through the Inside Passage and were comfortable doing so in all sorts of weather. That cannot be under appreciated.

What notable destinations has it traveled to?

In addition to the aforementioned, we spent many summers fishing along the perimeter of Vancouver Island, and made three circumnavigations of it. One summer was spent at Port Hardly with countless crossings of Queen Charlotte Straight, Camano Sound and Milbanke Sound, as well as journeys to other remote areas in Northern Canada.

What impressed you most about its performance?

Its 19-degree hull, reverse chines and twin 330 hp diesel engines allow the ability to cruise at high speed in water that would slow other boats. The rough water capabilities are truly superb. Boating from Seattle to Port Hardy was accomplished in two relatively easy days.

What additions to your boat are unique or notable compared to similar vessels on the market?

Personally, my favorite addition is the 25 hp Yamaha trolling motor with aft cockpit controls. It allows the Cold Water to function as an excellent salmon trolling boat and a very economical one at that – we were able to troll for three days on just 12 gallons of gasoline.

Why are you listing it with Waterline Boats?

We have trust in the reputation and capabilities of broker Gretchen Miles and Waterline Boats and know they will find the right buyer for this boat. There are many more adventures to be had aboard!
