What is your boating background?
As "the son of a son of a sailor," both sides of my family have always been on the water in one form or another. From tug boating log-rafts to their mills around Puget Sound or running steamship trampers around Horn.
I started working on the water as a Geoduck tender and diver while in high school and later joined the United States Coast Guard. A few seasons working as a mate on a processing vessel in Alaska had me wishing for warmer climates. This led me to traveling along the little latitudes working at dive resorts as a dive, captain and manager. Most recently I ran private charters and dive classes in the Florida Keys from my 50-foot Marine Trader.
Do you currently own a boat? What kind?
I do not own a vessel at this time. Though I recently owned a 50-foot Marine Trader for my dive and charter business in the Florida Keys. I do have a 17.5-foot sailing kayak which I take out every chance I get.
What is your favorite boating destination and why?
My two favorite cruising destinations have to be the Inside Passage for the wild solitude and the South Pacific for the tropical islands and friends I’ve made there.
What do you like most about being a broker at Waterline Boats?
What attracted me to Waterline Boats was how highly respected the company is from other brokers. It seems to me at this early stage of joining the WLB Crew that it’s all about the friendly, helpful relationship everyone seems to have within the company towards each other.
