Waterline Boats / Boatshed Port Townsend

WLB Agent Q & A Session -
What is your boating background?
Starting from my first known boating experience I learned to sail an 8’ Sabot Sailboat at 5 years of age with my father’s hands tight on the rope to pull me in if I got into trouble. I owned and operated many small vessels through the years, such as aluminum skiffs, inflatable Zodiacs, kayaks, etc. My first motorboat was a 17’ Glastron runabout which I used every weekend fishing along the Southern California Coast, then a 20' Sea Ray open bow. Soon after, I owned and operated a 30’ Columbia Sailboat from Dana Point Harbor for a few years. More recently, I helped crew a 70’ Sea Ray as a deckhand from Long Beach to Catalina Island. More adventurously I spent a week exploring 200 miles of Lake Mead and Black Canyon behind Hoover Dam in a Novurania Inflatable.

Do you currently own a boat? What kind?
I am not currently a boat owner, but one of the main reasons for my being in this area is to own and operate a trawler to explore the Puget Sound and Inside Passage to Alaska.

What is your favorite boating destination and why?
Boating the Southern California Pacific Ocean from harbor to harbor has been my favorite destination. The water and the weather are always good for year round boating with beautiful coastlines, restaurants, public docks, and beaches to easily place your boat.

What do you like most about being a broker at Waterline Boats?
I truly am passionate about all boats, Waterline Boats at Port Townsend allows me to be around boats of all kinds, all day, and working with a great crew!
