WLB Agent Q & A Session -
What is your boating background?
My early boating experiences start at age 16 with commercial fishing in Alaska for salmon and crab which I did for 3 years (survived for 3 years). My first boats were personal fishing boats ranging from an 18’ open skiff to a Bayliner Trophy 25’ mostly in Puget Sound with an occasional trip to Westport or Sekiu. Somewhere along the way I decided sailing was my new boating passion. I spent many years racing in Seattle area races with the Seattle and Everett Yacht Clubs. I also participated in offshore racing with several boats doing the Oregon Offshore, Swftsure and Van Isle 300 many times. Those experiences led me to buying my own sailboat a Tayana 36 then a Tayana 52 offshore which I sailed to Hawaii twice as well as circumnavigated Vancouver Island three times. I currently own a Navigator Pilothouse 5800 62 LOA which my partner (Cathy) and I have been cruising the Pacific Northwest and Canada. I am a member of Everett Yacht Club, Puget Sound boating club, Wheel, and Keel boating club.
