The owner of this vessel originally bought the boat just for these reasons. As he says, “…it is versatile, and has potential to work profitably in Pacific Northwest passenger and sightseeing service.” Certainly, this is true, as the Northwest is a wonderland of scenic waterways with lots of demand to get out to those special spots.
But time on the water is popular everywhere, and this vessel is well built to navigate most any waters. In fact, the owner noted that this seaworthy boat has traveled all the way from Warren Rhode Island to the Hawaiian Islands – not to mention all over the Puget Sound!
How This Vessel Stands Above the Rest
This passenger ferry’s exceptional stability along with low fuel consumption, at less than 7 gallons per hour at a cruising speed of 10 knots, have been what has most impressed the current owner. Recent additions that also help this vessel stand out above the rest include:
• New modern main engines (two Cummins QSM11-35).
• New modern main generators (two 30KW Northern Lights generators).
• In 2020 the vessel underwent repairs and upgrades to include selective replacement of steel plating, anti-corrosion coating and painting, and system upgrades.
• All batteries are new within the past two years.
Additionally, the large, open, two levels of decks with walls of windows provide flexible configurations for customized uses. Plus, this vessel has plenty of storage – even for the 149 passengers it is currently rated to hold, and the 380 passengers it was previously certified to hold (and has potential to be certified for again).
