The Perfect Recipe for Fun on the Water? This Beneteau Gran Turismo 40
What could be better than slicing through the seas aboard a sleek and fast boat, exploring all the ins and outs of a waterway? Then, in the evening, enjoying the peace of a boat at anchor, cooking up crab cakes for dinner while taking in the sinking sun. And, finally, end the day by retiring to a spacious and comfortable stateroom, lulled to sleep by the gentle rocking of the boat.

A Boat to Explore New Waters
The owners of this Beneteau originally purchased the boat as a size upgrade from their previous vessel when they moved from Connecticut to Pennsylvania. They toured their first Beneteau Gran Turismo 40 at the Annapolis Boat Show, and, “…knew we had found our next vessel. We loved the sleek European lines and understated and classic use of interior wood and color scheme.”
With the move south, the couple was also moving to new cruising waters. Their usual destinations would change from those in Long Island Sound to the mighty Chesapeake Bay. With this, they wanted a boat to match, and knew, “…the Beneteau would be a fun boat to explore all the nooks and crannies of the Bay.”
Seeking out Fun with this Gran Turismo
And explore this couple did – even to this day! “Currently, we are enjoying exploring the Intracoastal Waterway and cruising the waters from Savannah to Charleston, and all around Beaufort and Hilton Head.”
When asked where else they’ve enjoyed using this boat they list notable destinations with ease. This Beneteau has been used to take in the, “Fourth of July fireworks in Baltimore Inner Harbor”, and visit such places as the, “Annapolis Mooring field and Ego Alley, St. Michaels, Corsica, Magothy and Beaufort Rivers, Dataw and Hilton Head Islands.”
With these trips great memories were made. On this boat the current owners admired, “…stunning sunsets lounging on the bow sun pads or in the cockpit, as well sitting at the helm and star gazing through the very large sunroof.”
Not to mention the cooking they did aboard! As the owners said, “…we especially loved cooking Maryland crab cakes or Lowcountry shrimp on the stern’s electric grill and entertaining family and friends.”
